The Write Stuff Wrap-Up!

December 12, 2012 By

The Brooklyn Public Library Central branch played host to NYWC’s fourth annual Write Stuff youth reading this past Saturday to a wonderful turnout. The readers, whose ages ranged from six to sixteen, came from a variety of different workshops throughout the city as well as our Fort Greene Summer Literary Festival.

This year, the Write Stuff also served as a toy donation drop off site for Summer In the City’s Operation Sandy Project. Participants  and guests dropped off toys and stayed to hear the great writing from our fourteen readers. The day was filled with poems, wonderful odes to everything from numbers to bridges, modern twists on classic fairytales, and even a lesson on the relationship between  dimensions and empathy. The Write Stuff showcased just how talented these up-and-coming writers truly are!
