Is there anything more stressful than moving? I moved last week, and by the end of the ordeal I was just about ready to get the tape, crawl like a spider into a cardboard box, and ship myself downtown (while eating my own hair…and also weeping). It’s cleansing, however, to pack everything up. I found myself getting rid of things I didn’t need, finding things I’d lost for months, and reorganizing my entire life. I actually did weep a little at the end, for real. It’s hard to say goodbye to a home.

Write a piece in which you or your character packs up a home in which they have lived for quite some time. Take your time describing the process of packing items into boxes. Or describe an actual move and the unpacking process. Or write anything else this makes you think of.
